Kindly be informed that the Islamic Finance Committee( IFC) has agreed to hold a symposium on Islamic Banking and Finance in the northern, southern and eastern regions beginning January 2009 until March 2009. The purpose of holding the symposium is to introduce to our members the basic concepts and principles of Islamic Banking & Finance and to highlight recent decisions in this area.
The symposium will be held in the following regions and the tentative dates are :
North – Butterworth (mid January 2009)
Central –
South – Johor Bahru (end February 2009)
East –
The organisers are hoping that the Deputy Governor of Bank Malaysia, Dato’ Mohd Razif bin Abdul Kadir will give the keynote address followed by talks on Islamic Banking & Finance by some prominent speakers.
This symposium is a one-day programme starting at 8.00a.m until 5.00p.m .In the morning session after the keynote address there will be presentation by a prominent speaker.The afternoon session will be conducted by Encik Mohamed Ridza Mohamed Abdulla from Messrs Mohamed Ridza & Co and Encik Lukman S Alias from Messrs Zul Rafique & Partners who will discuss on common issues and legal documents of Islamic Banking & Finance.
