Perak Bar celebrated its family day on Saturday, 22nd. May at the Polo Ground in Jalan Tambun. If I am not mistaken this was the very first time it was jointly organised by Dewan Bandaraya Ipoh. Although it started of wet and muddy as a result of the impending rain, nonetheless entertainment and simmering hawker-style food made it an eventful one. Staff of DBI, members of Perak Bar and their families were in attendance.
The event was officiated by the Mayor of Ipoh City . In his speech he pledged to make this an annual affair. Later, accompanied by the Chairman of Perak Bar and Committee members, the Mayor visited the various booths on display. During his stop-over at the Legal Aid Booth, he was informed of the aim/objectives and the role Perak Legal Aid Centre plays in assisting the poorer communities in With songs, dances, sports and games the event was a success despite the weather condition which may have prevented visitors and regular joggers from partaking, but our spirit was not dampen at all.
